About Whatsnew
[ Application intended to run on "24.04" stable. No guaranty on other versions of UT, including focal, daily or bleeding edge: it can crash or not work properly ]
This app aims to offer Whatsapp web inside a newer web engine, thanks to an electron application, and by injecting a js script to make the UI responsive. This is not an official Whatsapp client, but it is a clever way to display the official "Whatsapp web" client inside a Webview, to give an experience as close as possible to a native app.
Supports:
- Audio calls
- Sending and receiving text messages
- Notifications when keeping the app open in background
- Import / Export attachments via ContentHub
- Sending and receiving audio messages
- Open URL externally via URLdispatcher
- Whatsapp advanced features ( Reactions, pools, contact editing, contact sharing, events, community, and much more ... )
- Privacy protection measures to prevent Whatsapp web from listening to the microphone in background, even if you have given access to microphone.
Tips and tricks:
- In order to get notifications, disable suspension for Whatsnew from UT Tweak tools ( https://open-store.io/app/ut-tweak-tool.sverzegnassi ). Then keep the application open in background, note that this may use a little more the battery than usual.
-You can adjust scaling of the app, by clicking on the gear icon on the top right-hand corner while Whatsapp is loading.
- Copy and paste natively only with other XWayland apps (Sigul UT, Min browser, uWolf,...) , to share clipboard with other apps use: https://open-store.io/app/xclip-swap.pparent
Current limitations:
- No access to the camera so no video calls possible.
- You can only upload files one by one.
- Whatsapp web does not allow to view One-time-only message, or security codes sent by message.

Funktioniert sehr gut, nur wenn die App länger offen ist, muss ich sie neu starten.
