About UT Translator
WARNING! THE LAST UPDATE WILL NOT RUN ON FOCAL, DO NOT INSTALL IT IF YOU ARE ON FOCAL.
An offline translator for Ubuntu Touch. It uses Kotki as a backend (https://github.com/kroketio/kotki).
WARNING! The suggested translation may be inaccurate, especially when it is translated not from/to English!
You need to install "basic translation models" using Setup screen to translate between the following languages:
- Bulgarian
- Czech
- German
- Spanish
- Estonian
- Persian
- French
- Icelandic
- Italian
- Dutch
- Polish
- Portuguese
- Russian
- Ukrainian
Many other languages can also be installed using the Setup menu.
The application also supports speech synthesis using espeak-ng. You need to install speech synthesis data using the Setup screen.
There's still a lot of work to do and any help will be appreciated
Advantages:
-Offline translation
-Neural Machine Translation
-Can perform indirect translation
-Can translate whole sentences
Disadvantages:
-Translation may be slow
-Translation may be inaccurate
-Is not the best option for translating whole sentences
-The application icon is weird
Recent Changes
This is the last build for Focal.
Add option to resize text fields to use all the screen. This option can be enabled in settings and requires restarting the application.
Reimplement language selectors. Main screen now looks a little different.
Better dark theme support, language installer coloring
Update translations
Update armhf build. I don't know if it works or not.
