About Puhuri 2

Puhuri 2 is an XMPP messenger for Ubuntu Touch. It supports one-to-one chats,
OMEMO encryption, message archive management, images, voice messages and
Lomiri notifications. The interface is available in English and Finnish.

Puhuri 2 starts a confined XMPP background service and a notifications helper
when the app is first launched. They continue running after the Puhuri 2
window is closed, so incoming messages can be stored and announced without
placing message text, sender details or decrypted OMEMO data in a push
payload.

Version 1.0.0 is the first stable release. Some features depend on server support;
for example, message archive management must be available when history
synchronization is required.

Recent Changes

Puhuri 2 1.0.0 is the first stable release of the XMPP messenger for Ubuntu Touch.

It includes one-to-one messaging, OMEMO encryption, message history, images,
compact Ogg/Opus voice messages, notifications while the app window is closed,
and English and Finnish interfaces with three selectable themes.

Version 1.0.0 retains the application behavior of 0.1.8. The stable version
recognizes the user-verified everyday messaging paths, direct OpenStore
installation, encrypted voice-message delivery/playback, and measured local
voice-message storage reclamation after deletion.

Voice recordings target 32 kbit/s mono Opus and keep one permanent local copy.
Existing messages and recordings are preserved when updating. Launch the app
after installation; automatic startup after a phone restart is not promised.

Ubuntu Touch 24.04, arm64. Licensed under AGPL-3.0-or-later; bundled dependency
license and notice texts are included in the package and source repository.
